Faded

She stares out from within
The four framed corners
Holding the grey oil paints
That show her sitting in a chair

Waiting with her hands
Under her chin 
Helping keep her head up

Then comes a brush stroke
That drops a bright
Teal and yellow lilly
On her lap
What colours!
What boldness!
Where is this flower from?

This sudden blessing
That shows the girl
That all she knew is
Faded in comparison
To the bold love
That awaits
Beyond the grey oil
On the framed canvas
Marked by mortality

She stares at the lilly
So beautiful and obvious
A stark contrast to the
Dull world around her

She looks around
Clutches the flower
Defying the strokes that
Bound her to the chair
She peels herself away

And jumps out of the canvas
Into the very world
The lilly is from
