- Are the DNA tests able to account for the mutating RNA identity of SARS-CoV-2? If the virus is mutating, how are the DNA tests adapting to keep up?
- How standardized are the DNA tests and how different are the DNA primers being used in each region/ company/ lab/ country to identify the viral RNA?
- What components are the tests identifying as positive hits? Is each testing center using the same metrics to identify a positive vs. negative outcome?
Questions 2 and 3 are asking for different answers. Question 2 has to do with the standardization of search parameters (DNA primers), while question 3 has to do with the standardization of evaluations of results from DNA tests.
