Though darkness may assail us With trouble on every side, The Lord Jesus comes to save us From God's wrath and our own pride As children we must come To attain the grace we need Humbly repenting to our God Of sins that grow like weeds Escape the traps set by the fiend Forgive to flee his cunning schemes Love your enemies and pray to see God's salvation upon their fleshly being Oh how Jesus loved, and died for, me So I run to Him to be set free From these snares of sin and death That try to choke faith's very breath So we will not fear the fiery trial Nor the heart wounds from betrayal Flinching not at guiltless guile As we walk each thorny mile Seeking God in sorrow and pain Of hope deferred and love that is feigned Discerning truth from lies is germane In this fight of faith through stormy rain Singing songs of joyful praise The Lord's Banner we will quickly raise Watch our enemies suddenly tremble and fade As the light of Jesus shines ablaze

Minu, I read something recently that really dovetails with what you have shared. It is from the New Hampshire Baptist Confession of 1833.
Of Repentance and Faith We believe that Repentance and Faith are sacred duties, and also
inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God (Mark 1:15; Acts 11:18; Eph. 2:8; 1 John 5:1); whereby being deeply convinced of our guilt, danger, and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ (John 16:8; Acts 2:37-38; 16:30-31), we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy ( Luke 18:13; 15:18-21; James 4:7-10; 2 Cor. 7:11; Rom. 10:12-13; Psa. 51); at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest, and King, and relying on him alone as the only and all-sufficient Saviour (Rom. 10:9-11; Acts 3:22-23: Heb. 4:14; Psa. 2:6; Heb. 1:8; 8:25; 2 Tim. 1:12).
Thank you for sharing this very touch and deeply personal post with the world. Peace, love and joy to you!
