Matthew 14:22-33

Is that you my Lord?
Calling to me
Can I walk to You?
Amidst all this sea

This tiny boat I’m tired
Of holding me in
Of keeping me from you
But I hear you say:

Step out of the boat
And onto the water
I call you my son
I call you my daughter
You know that I’m
Always around you
Bigger than the
Waves that could drown you
I made the earth and the
Sky that surrounds you
So put your trust in Me
And your faith will see
The Truth
My love for you

But my feet are small
Not made for these trials
And my heart is weak
My flesh in denial

Will you lead me
Safely to shore
Casting my doubts aside
I step out and hear you:

Step out of the boat
And onto the water
I call you my son
I call you my daughter
You know that I’m
Always around you
Bigger than the
Waves that could drown you
I made the earth and the
Sky that surrounds you
So put your trust in Me
And your faith will see
The Truth
My love for you

Thank you Jesus

You’re the one true King

Please take my faith

As my offering.

I’m stepping out in faith

Not sure where I’ll go

But you’re holding me

That’s all I know

Step out of the boat
And onto the water
I call you my son
I call you my daughter
You know that I’m
Always around you
Bigger than the
Waves that could drown you
I made the earth and the
Sky that surrounds you
So put your trust in Me
And your faith will see
The Truth
My love for you

  1. How fortunate we are to have a relationship with Christ, that in times of doubt and suffering we know where to find Him as He reminds us that He is there for us. It is with joy amidst our suffering that we know He hears us, loves us and helps us conform ourselves to His will by having us stepping out of that boat. It is difficult to go through tough times, and I can only imagine the searing pain experienced by those that have no relationship with God, and only have a relationship with emptiness leading to eternal torment.

    Well done, Ms. Minu!

    1. Thanks Bruce! I wrote this song with the disciple Peter in mind as he responds to Jesus, and wanted to represent the different stages of questioning, faith, and trust that one could experience in the presence of Jesus calling us into deeper faith and relationship with Him. Definitely praying for those who are seeking Christ.
